The Nascentes do Iguaçu Ornithological Observatory offers a unique and memorable experience, in which the visitor has the opportunity and privilege to take a virtual flight, at low altitude, over the edge of the mountains and valleys that surround its limits.

The virtual overflight gives the visitor an idea of the grandiosity of the landscapes that make up the Paraná stretch of the Atlantic Forest Great Reserve, including spectacular views of the coastal plain, Paranaguá Bay, the Marumbi and Paraná mountain ranges, and several other natural attractions located on the First Paraná Plateau. Some of these landscapes can be seen in the image gallery below.

Without leaving the site, and wearing goggles provided by the Observatory, the visitor can see high-resolution aerial images in real time, captured by a state-of-the-art drone camera equipped with a zoom system.

This exciting tour lasts approximately 15 minutes and is conducted preferably on clear days with good visibility and moderate winds: an experience comparable to a helicopter flight over the stunning landscapes of the Serra do Mar.

It was designed especially for elderly people or those with physical restrictions to walk the trail that leads to the top of the mountain range, so that they can also, even virtually, appreciate the beauty of the landscapes and views that can be seen from there.

It is important to point out that the aircraft used for the fly-over is approved by the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL), and the operation of flight routes is authorized by the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA), an agency subordinated to the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
